چکیده
Melatonin is known to influence various physiological processes, including plant ripening; however, the effect of melatonin on postharvest blueberry fruit softening unknown. Herein, effects at different concentrations (100, 300, and 500 μmol L-1) quality parameters, cell wall substances, cell-wall-degrading enzymes, ultrastructure fruits were investigated during low-temperature storage. treatment was found effectively delay decline in firmness, slow loss soluble solids titratable acids, decrease respiration rate decay fruits. The treated with 300 L-1 exhibited best quality. promoted anthocyanin accumulation, delayed ascorbic acid degradation, maintained a low relative membrane permeability pulp, inhibited increases lipoxygenase (LOX) activity, reduced lipid peroxidation. Moreover, controlled formation pectin by inhibiting activities methylesterase (PME), polygalacturonase (PG), cellulase (Cx), β-glucosidase (β-Glu) while maintaining high contents protopectin cellulose. These results indicate that can improve antioxidant capacity as well degradation substances.

Primary Cell Wall Metabolism during Fruit Ripening*
Fruit softening is an important part of the ripening process, and involves changes to cell turgor and primary cell wall structure. Most of the polysaccharide components of the cell wall are subjected to some degree of controlled degradation, resulting in a loosening and swelling of the wall structure, a weakening of cell wall strength, and reduced intercellular adhesion. Early ripening changes ...
متن کاملEffects of calcium treatment and low temperature storage on cell wall polysaccharide nanostructures and quality of postharvest apricot (Prunus armeniaca).
Cell wall polysaccharides play an important role in postharvest fruit texture softening. Effects of calcium treatment combined with cold storage on the physical properties, polysaccharide content and nanostructure of apricots were investigated. Apricots were immersed in distilled water, 1% or 3% w/v calcium chloride, then stored at 5°C or 10°C. Storage at 5°C significantly improved apricot qual...

Effects of storage duration and temperature of hydro-primed wheat seeds on seed and seedling quality
Quality of seed as a propagating organ and the most valuable input to produce crops is highly important in agriculture. Thus, the objective of this study was to compare the effects of storage temperature (15, 20 and 25 °C) and storage duration (0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 days) of hydro-primed wheat seeds of Koohdasht dry land cultivar on germination and seedling characteristics. The seeds were hydro-prim...
